SCORE ONE FOR TEAM GLASS CLOSET: ANDERSON ON NYE

DEFAMER.COM brings those of us who had lives or geographical excuses to miss the CNN Times Square coverage on New Year's Eve a review of the "Fred and Ethel" esque comedy duo that is, apparently, Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin.

I know, I know, I'm not exactly a fan of her either. But she loves her "gays" (which, inexplicably, includes our Anderson but excludes our favourite, Ryan Seacrest), and she's a woman you can have flirt with Anderson on camera and almost, almost makes CNN appear cool, so have at it.

There's a seven minute video at the source link, check it out for me, I don't have bandwith right now, but they've managed to pull out one of those moments to quote that just make you sigh, shake your head, and wonder how closeted, exactly, Mr. Cooper thinks he is:

Kathy: "My balls are freezing."

Anderson: "We have some eggnog in the truck."

Kathy: "Well I've got to watch my figure-- I'm not like you."

Anderson: "Don't worry, I'm not watching your figure either."

Anderson, sweetheart, we never thought for a moment that you were.

FROM THE ARCHIVES: "WHAT WE DID LAST WEEKEND", ROBIN WILLIAMS TICKLES ANDERSON WITH A RYAN SEACREST JOKE

NOVEMBER, 2006. Billy Crystal, Robin Williams, and Whoopi Goldberg are touring with an "It Helps To Laugh" special.

Anderson was given an interview with the three comedians, and he spent the whole time valiantly trying too keep up - and keep his composure! He didn't do too badly...

And then, oh, and then, oh so innocently, Anderson commented:

"I'm starting to sweat."

The best comeback ever award goes to Robin Williams, who replied... well, I don't want to ruin it for you. Watch the video!

UNCOMFORTABLE HETEROSEXUAL MOMENT WATCH: 07/08 ANDERSON EDITION

MIDNIGHT, DEC. 31, TIMES SQUARE. The tradition, of course, is to ring in the new year with a hearty kiss at midnight. Being in New Zealand and technically in the future for the Cooper led New Year's coverage, I didn't see the moment, but it looks like Cooper opted for the friendly hug. Telling!

I did turn over to CNN a few moments too late, though, and I did happen to catch Anderson's glances over to pastures that were not of his own network!

Oh, Ryanderson, New Year's Eve must be the sweetest torture for you both! So close, and yet so far, with a loudmouthed comedienne between you. I can't decide which of the boys' coverage wins for "gayest New Year's coverage" - Anderson's had the drag queen drop, but Ryan's had Ryan Seacrest. Let's declare that one a little too close to call!

BREAKING NEWS: RYAN SEACREST DOES HIS BEST AC360 IMPERSONATION ON NEW YEAR'S EVE

Ryan Seacrest, as we'll document here, likes to try and impress Anderson Cooper (Seacrest himself admits a "bizarre crush" on our favourite baby-Vanderbilt newscaster).

Last night, at the Ryan Seacrest and Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve in Times Square, Ryan decided to do his best Silver Fox impression and put the hard question to Michael Bloomberg: would he put in a bid to enter the Presidential race?

Seacrest, who more often finds himself in a tete-a-tete with Simon Cowell rather than the leader of Gotham, began the inquiry by commenting to Bloomberg's daughters, "I want your dad to answer this honestly. Will you run for president?"

Without hesitation, Bloomberg responded, "No, I will not run for president, but I will speak out to try to get people to really focus on the issues and to get rid of partisanship and special interests." (from the Huffington Post).

No word on Anderson's reaction, but we can safely assume it involved cartoon like heart-shaped eyes and a sudden urge to leave Kathy Griffin, Erica Hill, and Kiran Chetry for much gayer pastures on the stage.

Welcome to All Things Ryanderson!

We are Ryan Seacrest fans. We are Anderson Cooper fans (well, sort of). And we are fans of the ridiculously theatrical flirtation they're carrying over as many media outlets as possible.

And we're not the only ones that have caught on! In Touch magazine, in the spirit of John Mayer on the red carpet, put together an article that just... says it all, really:

So stay tuned! We'll bring you the best in Ryanderson news and entertainment. Don't touch that dial, because we'll be right back.
